Professor Marion Saville,
Trustee of ROSE Foundation

Professor Marion Saville is an Anatomic Pathologist who has held the position of Executive Director at the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer (ACPCC) since 2000. Marion has served on numerous cervical screening advisory committees in Australia, New Zealand and Ontario, leading the change from Pap based screening to more effective screening based on HPV testing. She currently chairs the working group to review Australia’s National Cervical Screening Program Guidelines.

Marion has focused on research and implementation projects demonstrating that it is possible to deliver high quality, acceptable cervical screening in a range of resource poor settings, collaborating with investigators in Malaysia, leading to the establishment of the ROSE Foundation where she is a founding Trustee. Marion is the ACPCC lead on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade funded Elimination Partnership in the Indo-Pacific for Cervical Cancer (EPICC). She was appointed as a member (AM) of the Order of Australia in 2020 for her significant service to women’s health through cervical screening initiatives.
